Reminders !! · All times posted on the schedule are tentative and NOT definite. The accuracy of these schedules are dependent on the previous games scheduled. If the match before yours finishes early then your scheduled time will move earlier, just like a delayed match will move your schedule later. · So, come early for your matches. · Please register yourself at Match Control when you arrive. · The court requires that all participants use shoes with non-marking soles. · Have fun!!! Tournament Rules
A. The Tournament
1. There shall be seven classes of competition based on the player's playing skills: Class A1, Class A2, Class B1, Class B2, Class C1, Class C2 and Class C3. 2. There shall be divisions for every Class Group. Class A1, Class A2, Class B1 and Class C3 will have 2 Groups. Class B2 and Class C2 will have 3 Groups and Class C1 will have 4 Groups. Each group will play all divisions in the elimination round. 3. The Tournament shall be a single round robin elimination format.
Advancement: 1. Class A1, Class A2, Class B1, Class B2, Class C1, Class C2 and Class C3– The top two ranked pairs in each group will advance to their crossover semi final round. The finals match will be composed of the two winners of the semi-finals. 2. Class B2 and Class C2– The top ranked pairs in each group will advance to their final round. A drawing of lots from the second ranked pair will determine a wild card to complete the semifinalists. The match up for the semifinal round pairs will be decided by drawing lots to determine which pair will go against which pair. The finals match will be composed of the two winners of the semi-finals. 3. Class C1– The top ranked pairs in each group will advance to the semi final round. Drawing of lots will determine the quarter final draw. The finals match will be composed of the two winners of the semi-finals.
4. All matches shall be best of three games using the BWF standard 21 rally point system.
B. Point System 1. If a pair wins the match in two games, they earn three (3) statistical points, and the losing pair doesn't earn a statistical point. If a pair wins the match in three games, they earn two (2) statistical points, and the losing pair earns one (1) statistical point.
C. Tie Break Rules The Procedure to solve a tie is as follows: · Ranking will be established by comparing the number of matches won. · If two pairs have won the same number of matches, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher. · If three or more pairs have won the same number of matches, ranking will be established by the difference between total games won and total games lost. · *** If this still leaves two players / pairs equal, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher. · If three or more players / pairs have won the same number of matches and are equal in the difference between total games won and total games lost, ranking will be established by the difference between total points won and total points lost. · If this still leaves two players / pairs equal, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher. · If three or more players / pairs are still equal, then ranking will be established by drawing lots. |
